Strengthening and building the confidence of creators of small businesses and organizations to realize their visions and potential.

Hey! Tuff Stuff Business Empowerment is me! Jess Epsten - a tender/tuff queer southerner who has been working with small businesses and nonprofits for seven years in many capacities. I am primarily self-taught and approach work with an empathetic and intuitive lens. I believe that small businesses and organizations are integral to their communities and that their creators deserve support that fits them and their comfort level. I am also a big fan of baseball, BBQ, and astrology.

I am in based in Asheville, North Carolina and spend a lot of time in both Georgia and South Carolina. I happy to work with you remotely!

 

My Approach

  • I understand that running a business or organization can be vulnerable and exhausting work so I focus on clear and encouraging communication

  • I use active listening to gain a deep understanding of your mission and values in order to support you to:

    • Amplify and hone your voice and ideas

    • Create websites and graphics that highlight your work, skills, and projects 

    • Foster and teach the tools you need to thrive in your business

  • I aim to work in ways that are true to you, organized, and that minimize overwhelm

  • I am committed to supporting folks with various incomes, queer and radical businesses/organizations, and underserved populations. Please contact me to discuss sliding scale options or alternative forms of payment.

Past clients include: Herbalists, writers, artists, nonprofits, nurseries, farmers, social justice organizations, and acupuncturists.
